To lead and manage a department within a premium retail environment, delivering an exceptional customer experience, driving sales performance, and ensuring operational excellence. The successful candidate will inspire and develop teams, maintain high merchandising standards, and execute business strategies while protecting company assets and promoting brand values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the department team to deliver outstanding customer service while achieving sales and service targets.

  • Communicate daily and weekly sales goals, ensuring clear focus and accountability across the team.

  • Support team members in resolving customer queries, returns, and loyalty programme engagement.

  • Ensure full team understanding of CRM systems and compliance with customer data procedures.

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop team members through effective induction and ongoing coaching.

  • Manage performance by recognising success, coaching improvement, and addressing underperformance professionally.

  • Maintain exceptional merchandising standards across the shop floor and stockroom, ensuring a commercial and organised environment.

  • Oversee promotions, signage, and ticketing in line with company and brand standards.

  • Manage operational processes including stocktakes, transfers, markdowns, and returns accurately and efficiently.

  • Control departmental resources and costs, including supplies and operational spend.

  • Ensure adherence to all security, audit, and loss prevention procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external brand partners to maximise results.

  • Act as a role model for professionalism, service excellence, and accountability

Person Specification

  • Proven retail management experience, ideally within premium, luxury, or high-volume environments.

  • Strong leadership and people development skills with experience managing diverse teams.

  • Commercially driven with a track record of delivering sales and service targets.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with confidence engaging at all levels.

  • Strong merchandising knowledge and commercial awareness.

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in digital systems, POS platforms, and numerically confident.

  • Professional, adaptable, and resilient under pressure.
